Duality / The feminine within - Photobook
PHOTOGRAPHY - VISUAL CONCEPT - LAYOUT DESIGN/PRINT
Dutality began as a way for me to explore duality as something lived, not defined. I am drawn to the places where things are not one or the other, but both at once. Where softness holds strength, where light and shadow exist together, and where meaning sits somewhere in between.
The photography grew out of a slow and intuitive way of working. I rely mostly on natural light and stay close to the body, surfaces, and details that carry feeling rather than explanation. I try not to force an image. Instead, I wait for moments that feel honest, allowing subtle gestures, textures, and shifts in tone to guide the photograph.
Duality became part of how I shot and edited the work. I paid attention to contrast, distance, and restraint, letting some things remain unresolved. I am interested in images that leave space, that ask the viewer to stay a little longer rather than understand everything right away.
Making the book was a continuation of the same process. I worked carefully with sequencing, pacing, and white space so the images could unfold slowly. The layout is quiet and minimal, supporting the photographs rather than competing with them.
Material choices were made with touch and weight in mind. Paper, binding, and print adjustments were chosen to hold softness in skin tones and depth in shadows, so the physical book carries the same sensitivity as the images.
Dutality is the result of carrying an idea through photography, editing, and print with care, curiosity, and attention to how each part connects to the whole.
